Songstress Christina Aguilera and her music executive beau Jordan Bratman tied the knot in 2005, during a wedding extravaganza costing an estimated $2 million in California’s Napa Valley. Since Christina’s favorite month is December, she challenged wedding planner Michael Gapinski to come up with a winter landscape theme for her wedding in November!? Close enough! Gapinski delivered, with hundreds of birch trees, white hydrangeas, amaryllis, roses, and branches. Xtina walked down the aisle in a Christian Lacroix gown while her bridesmaids wore dresses by Stevie Wonder’s wife, designer Kai Milla.

The wedding festivities began on Thursday and stretched into a Friday-night rehearsal dinner at Auberge du Soleil resort, and then the grand event on Saturday. The couple asked guests to make donations to Hurricane Katrina and Rita relief efforts. Though it ended up in a split from eachother, their luxurious wedding was one for the books.

Held in an exclusive Italian resort, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel said “I do” in 2012 and it was pricey. Their wedding cost an estimated $6.5 million, as 100 guests were invited to spend the week with Biel and Timberlake in Puglia, Italy, and celebrate the festivities on October 19, 2012. And on the day of, October 19, 2012, the entire castle-type Borgo Egnazia, including its golf courses, restaurants, spas, 63-rooms, with 28 villas and luxury hotel, were made exclusively available to Justin and Jessica and their guests only.

Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding to Marc Mezvinsky hit the $3 million mark (estimated). The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and democratic Presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton had this part of her life detailed in the press, just like all other moments of her life in the limelight. This wedding was expensive in a very different category; its guest list. Who-is-who of the political and Show biz world attended: Barbra Streisand, Stephen Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw, Barak and Michelle Obama, Oprah, and Ted Turner, to name a few.  With a list like this, several hundred security guards were hired to handle the event which happened in summer which meant the bride and the groom spent $600,000 on air-conditioned tents to keep their guests cool. Flowers cost an estimated $500,000, and security has been said to have cost around $200,000.

What’s $6.5 million spend on a wedding when it comes to this mega-famous, fame-loving twosome? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Florence nuptials was a grand affair reportedly topping $12 million. The venue where all of this went down cost over $400K, and Kim’s dress, a custom-made, haute couture creation, by Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, was price tagged at $500K. Kanye ordered a 230-foot marble table for the reception which cost $478,000. That’s money!

The royal twosome wins this round, but that’s only because we wanted to list relevant, more recent weddings. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding cost an estimated £20 million (an equivalent of $34MM) , included and in addition to all the usual (or unusual) wedding costs the British police working the day were paid double for their services. Over 2,500 invited guests attended the wedding in addition to thousands of people lining the streets and millions of viewers watching the ceremony live, worldwide. A combined $1.3 million was spent on the wedding gown, the cake and flowers, while security was one of the costliest items on the bill. Now, here is where we must mention that Prince William’s later mother, Princes Diana tops this super-expensive list when she married Prince Charles in 1983 to a whopping wedding bill of $110 million (inflation adjusted number). Game over!
